A Night Of Chaos With Weeping Wound
June 29th, 2025 - Orlando, Florida
One of my favorite bands that have come out of Florida are none other than Tampa’s very own Weeping Wound. They’ve returned to Orlando with tour mates Glasswares & Set For Tomorrow to prove why they're such a staple in the Florida metal scene. Alongside this already stacked tour package came local bands Burial Joy and No One Road which set the night up to be unforgettable.
Kicking things off was Burial Joy, who led with haunting doom-laced breakdowns and piercing banshee screams. With a stage presence that was hard to ignore, they were sure to captivate fans leaving the room swaying and never standing still. Next up is another Florida local “No One Road” who I’ve had the pleasure of catching a set beforehand opening for Florida’s very own pop princess Summer Hoop back in May was very impressed, playing fan favorites such as “Pick Me” and “BR3Ak Me”, the room exploded as the post-hardcore group played igniting breakdowns that really got the crowd going.
Set For Tomorrow hit the stage with a commanding presence that further ignited the crowd warming them up even more for what was to follow. Polished metalcore roots were on full display as they played tight-breakdowns, ripped soaring choruses, and a charismatic frontman who controlled the crowd.
The highlight of my night was put on the band hailing from Rochester, New York: none other than Glasswaves. Coming off the super high of playing Warped Tour D.C and the recent release of their debut EP release titled “It Was Always Meant To End” , they set up the rest of the night with a moody atmospheric but devastating performance. Their blending of emotional depth mixed with technical precision had the crowd buzzing one moment and throwing down in the pit the next. Vocalist Noah commanded the crowd like no other with melodic hooks with cutting waves of aggression throughout. They played fan favorites such as “Monarch” and“Downpour,” then of course my personal favorite “Blessed Burden”. Glasswares truly stood out as the stars of the show. Be sure to keep your eye out on this upcoming band as they carve their path to be a name you should recognize anywhere. You can catch Glasswares on their upcoming tour opening for Elijah and another one of favorites Downswing on the road to “Rock Fest” in Wisconsin.
The moment that Weeping Wound took the stage, the room exploded as they played their newest material off their upcoming EP “Grief Is The Cure”. Fueling the chaos with feral energy from the pits, vocalist Dylan Torre really had his vocal prowess on full display as the crowd sang along. Playing songs “KARMA TICKET” and “NOIRE DEMON” and my personal favorite “ARTIFICIAL WEB" really got the crowd at its loudest. Now this was as close to a hometown show as it could as the band hails from Tampa. Be sure to keep your eye out on Weeping Wound as they’re only just getting started as they’re set to finish working on their debut album due to drop sometime in the next year.
