All The Stars Aligned For Freya Skye in Minneapolis

February 17, 2026 - Minneapolis, MN

Walking into The Fillmore in Minneapolis on February 17, I already knew I was in for a treat. It was almost an hour after doors had opened, and the line was wrapped around the block for this sold-out show. The girls in front of me were boasting about how their dad managed to get them tickets. Everyone around me was expressing their excitement about being at the show, and I couldn't resist joining in.

Adrian Lyles, fellow Disney Channel star, opened the night. Lyles commanded the stage playing and chose songs from his most recent album, composed of all his favorite songs and aptly titled, these are my favorite songs I’ve made so far, which was released this year on January 30.

In between every song, he mentioned how infectious the energy was in Minneapolis and fielded various calls of “I love you” from the audience. In addition to playing his album, he also covered “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” by Billie Eilish, which got everyone singing along and appealed to the young fans and their parents alike. Encouraging everyone to jump up and dance during his last song, “It Isn't Over Until You Die," left the audience in a great mood and ready for Freya Skye.

After a bit of buildup before her first song, “Can’t Fake It," Skye appeared on the top of a white platform adorned in a purple sparkly dress. Living up to the tour’s namesake, Stars Align, the stage was filled with curtain lights to look like stars in the sky. She immediately connected with the crowd during “Petty” and set the upbeat tone for the night.

Skye's vocal and lyrical talent extends well beyond her age and had me fully believing she was in her twenties, but no. At just 16, Skye has represented the United Kingdom in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and has starred in the Disney Channel movie Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampire. For her first EP, Stardust, released on February 4 of this year, Skye worked with well-known songwriters and producers, including Julia Michaels.

For her unreleased song, “Bad Taste," Skye acted like the members of the band were the ones who surprised her by playing the chords of the new song. The moment was very endearing, especially to the younger crowd of screaming fans who were delighted to hear an unreleased song early.

Another reason to love Skye is her unwavering devotion to interacting with the audience. During several points in the night, she had the lights shine on the fans and accepted sweatshirts and bracelets, read off all the homemade signs, and called everyone beautiful. She used that time to transition and explain what she deemed as the “campfire portion of the night.”

The campfire portion of the night consisted of her and the band sitting on the stage and asking silly questions to get to know one another before diving into the more slowed-down portion of the night. She played “Who I Thought I Knew," “london," and “maybe tomorrow."

Skye chose “Gold’s Gone” as her final encore song to close out the night and returned to the stage wearing a gold sparkly dress. Her final moments before the night came to a close included a voiceover recorded by Skye stating the “stars only truly align when we’re together,” further cementing her deep love and appreciation for live music and the fans.

The entire night was filled with so much unfiltered and pure infectious energy, both from Skye and the fans in the audience. There wasn’t a spare moment of silence in that room as fans shouted their admiration for Skye throughout the songs and during the gaps in between. The parents who were there in the crowd watched as their children got to experience a night they’ll never forget. It was another reminder that music is what bonds us during a time when we so desperately need it.
