After months of anticipation, Audrey Hobert kicked off the final leg of her Staircase to Stardom Tour in Brooklyn with three sold out nights at the Brooklyn Paramount. Before starting her set, fans got to enjoy the “opener,” which was just a mannequin wearing a wig with a playlist playing over the speakers.
Once Audrey herself finally came out, fans erupted into cheers as she–quite literally–towered over the crowd for the first song, “I like to touch people,” donning a pair of Groucho glasses for the first half of the song. A few songs later, every fan pulled their phones out to record the iconic “Wet Hair” monologue, where she discusses her middle school experience of boys never liking her, yet now she’s the star rather than the girls she thought would be famous growing up.

Later, during “Sex and the city” fans lit up the Brooklyn Paramount as part of a fan project, each person in the crowd having different colored papers that were passed out in line to hold over their phone flashlights. It was a beautiful sight, and we can only imagine how amazing it looked to Audrey onstage.
After the fan project, fans danced their way through the rest of her set, screaming along to hits like “Sue Me” and “Silver Jubilee.” The energy in the room was absolutely electric as everyone jumped around and echoed the lyrics back to Audrey. Although, nothing compared to the energy the crowd gave during “Sue Me” the second time it was played, when Audrey requests that everyone puts their phones away to just enjoy the song. Without people trying to focus on getting a good video of her most popular song, everyone was free to dance as much as they wanted and scream the lyrics even louder.

Audrey joked that everyone would be able to be in bed at a reasonable hour, since most people would have school or work the next day with it being a weekday concert. Even though it was a very short concert, seeing as Audrey only has one album out at the moment, it was undeniably an extremely fun time.
