Lawrence Continues To Show Up For The Devil Wears Prada

March 30th,2026 - Lawrence, KS

I missed The Devil Wears Prada the last time they were at The Granada, and it’s haunted me for the last two years, so when I saw that they were coming back to play my favorite venue in our market, I knew for SURE I had to be there. The lineup of bands joining them for the Flowers Tour was especially stellar and really had something for everyone.

If you haven’t heard of I Promised The World, now is the time to start listening to them because I have a feeling they’re only going to get more popular. If you were a fan of the early-to-mid-2000’s metalcore scene, you will LOVE this band. In an age of people craving nostalgia and the return to form for the genre, IPTW is here to show people that if you want that sound, you have to do it yourself. This makes them an ideal candidate to open this tour. A good chunk of their set was dedicated to playing the first four songs off their newest EP, I Promised The World, with my personal favorite, “Bliss in 7 Languages.”

I wasn’t the most familiar with Split Chain until this show, and they’ve truthfully been a band that's consistently been recommended to me but not one that I’ve ever checked out. Fortunately for me, that changed immediately after seeing them live. The people in the crowd were also really receptive to this band, which I thought was pretty exciting, especially since they came all the way from the UK for this tour. Along with playing their newest single, “sylvia (i won’t belong to you),” the Split Chain setlist had a nice mix of songs from the 2025 album motionblur. The one that stood out to me the most and immediately got added to my ongoing master playlist was without a doubt “bored. tired. torn.” The mix of post-hardcore and alternative elements that make up this band’s sound is sure to interest the fans of both genres.

I love Four Year Strong. I love when bands that are essentially pop punk have harsher vocals and unnecessarily heavy guitar riffs. The group of friends that I went to this show with are some of the biggest fans of this band in particular, and I think getting to experience music with people who truly love it is so much fun. Their excitement paired with the actual chaos happening in the pit was exactly what I would expect from a band like Four Year Strong. Despite the power going out in the venue after Spit Chain and the 45ish minute wait for the power company to fix a blown fuse, the energy in the room once the music started was unmatched. I loved the album Four Year Strong put out last year so having a lot of the heavy hitters from analysis paralysis  on the setlist was exceptionally fun. They also included their most recent single, “WHIPLASH” and I fully believe that if there hadn’t been a barricade, people would have been stage diving that entire song.

The Devil Wears Prada is a generational metalcore band, and that’s a hill I’ll die on any day of the week. It’s always a pleasure to get to see them live. Being this far into your career and still making amazing music and sounding THAT good live is no small feat, yet every member of this band makes it look so easy. Hearing songs from the new album Flowers really sold me on all the songs because everything just sounds better in a live setting. Along with playing a good handful of tracks from the new album, this setlist had a couple cool deep cuts like “Supernova,” which made my whole night, to be honest, because the Space EP is probably one of my favorites by Prada. My favorite thing of the whole night was the really cool circle video screen that was at the back of the stage. I kept seeing a bunch of really cool silhouette photos from their tour photographer Katie using that specific piece of set decoration, so I knew that I had to try and get a shot of my own. This was my first time getting to photograph this band after being a fan for a long time, so the night as a whole was pretty special and a ton of fun for me personally. If you have a chance to catch any remaining dates of this tour or if any of these bands show up in your city, buy the ticket; you won’t regret it.
