Who is Marti Perramon?
Marti Perramon is a self taught artist from Barcelona, known for his alt-pop music. He moved to London, England when he was very young and slowly started to find his passion in music. He talks in some of his songs about how hard it was for him to try and fit in after moving to London whilst not knowing how to speak English. However, his songs have also touched on how he’s now confident in himself and doesn’t care what others might think.

Marti Perramon brought his “Boy From Barcelona Baby” tour to The Deaf Institute in Manchester… with the kind of energy that instantly turns a normal gig into a party. From the moment he stepped on stage, Marti radiated energy, greeting the Manchester crowd like old friends and setting the tone for a night that felt both intimate and electric.
Why Marti’s different compared to other artists.
Marti has the rare ability to command a stage without doing too much. Dancing, leaning into the crowd, encouraging people to dance and sing with him, and even so, it felt meaningful rather than chaotic. His enthusiasm was contagious, and the audience responded by matching his energy, whether it was dancing and singing loudly or just taking the moments in.
What makes Marti so special?
What makes Marti special is his ability to create a balance between heartfelt and relatable moments to also having the time of your life dancing like there’s no tommorow. The “Boy From Barcelona Baby” setlist has a mix of slow, heartfelt tracks and pop anthems. During one of the more stripped-back acoustic moments, Marti joined the audience in the middle of the crowd and sung one of his songs “Stay The Same” with his opening act, Tom Abisgold.
This moment felt personal and sincere, performed with a softness and feeling of calm. The crowd sang along quietly, whilst turning on their phone lights to really capture the moment, making the show feel even smaller and more intimate. But, whilst being able to bring the calmness, he can also bring the party spirit! Marti can effortlessly change into a pop track, re-starting the dance floor atmosphere.
His upbeat songs are full of love and yearning for someone who lives far away. Marti is an incredible performer and I would definitely recommend his shows to anyone who gets the chance.
