“Bleachers” by The Runarounds
Who are the Runarounds?
The Runarounds are a band from North Carolina, consisting of 5 members, William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Zendé Murdock, Jesse Golliher and Jeremy Yun.
The band was formed in 2022, as a part of Jonah Pate’s plan to make a series based on real life experiences and events from the bands perspective, whilst they find their way to fame. Whilst also leaning into the relationships and friendships they made along the way.
The show officially launched in September 2025, almost immediately becoming one of the most watched shows on Prime Video shortly after its release. Unfortunately the series was recently cancelled by Prime Video, but the story doesn’t end here! The Runarounds are currently on their SOLD OUT “The Minivan Tour” performing across North America.
“Bleachers”
“Bleachers” is a song about the feeling of nostalgia, wishing you could relive moments that have already passed. It explores the feeling of yearning for being the next best thing in the music industry, whilst having only just graduated high-school, and the pressure of that feeling. Similarly, the song also focuses on the camaraderie and challenges of building a band whilst having the desire to make it in the music industry.
The Runarounds tap into that familiar mix of heavy guitars, steady drums, and slightly hazy vocals to create something that sounds like late summer evenings and unresolved feelings.
What stands out the most for me, is the atmosphere. It’s the kind of track that doesn’t demand attention but rewards it. It sits comfortably alongside modern indie acts that prioritize feeling over flash, and while it may not reinvent this genre of music, it executes it’s style with confidence.
I think this song is the first step in the next chapter of the band. Now they don’t have to worry about making songs interlinked with the story line of the tv show, and they can write about real experiences and events in their lives.
