“Crashland” by Cade Hoppe: A New Indie Pop Anthem

“Crashland” is the brand-new single from indie-pop singer Cade Hoppe. The single bears resemblance to Bleachers with it’s upbeat, expertly made track. Cade’s voice is also similar to Jack Antonoff’s at times, but carries a deeper, raspier tone to it.

It is so clear how talented Cade is, especially in terms of production and writing. The vocals on this single are expertly layered with harmonies stacked on top of each other, making “Crashland” a true stand out. These layered vocals are balanced with vivid lyrics and a chorus that creates a strong image of a great night of dancing while falling in love. In addition, the actual track of “Crashland” sounds incredibly full. Cade also shares similarities with Antonoff in terms of how evident his talent as a producer is in this new song.

This new single is also a departure from Cade’s typical indie sound with a heavier drum sound. It also takes a turn from the folk influence that is evident in songs like “Lake Michigan.” “Crashland” is more similar to songs from his last album Just Look at the Moon, while also still showing his strong evolution as an artist. After taking a break from 2023 to 2026, Cade has only gotten better. He has grown as a producer, crafting a track that includes guitars with a bright tone and punchy, upbeat drums. The drums on “Crashland” are able to carry the song really well, making the song very danceable.

Across Cade’s discography, it is clear how much he has grown as an artist, and “Crashland” is the latest addition to this development. This new single is on par with other great indie songs, stirring up the feelings only indie songs from the 2000’s can, while also maintaining a fresh spin on the sound. It is easy to picture this song in a rom-com or coming of age movie with how strong it sounds.
