Leeds Rising Stars Godeth Release Crushing New Single Leeches

The metal scene in the UK right now is thriving and continues to throw out some of the best and most exciting new bands and one of those bands have consistently produced mammoth songs since they burst on to the scene with their debut single in 2023. Leeds 5-piece Godeth are turning heads with their bone crushing and groove driven death metal and they are back again with another huge single, ‘Leeches’.

‘Leeches’ offers up everything we’ve come to love about this band. The siren sounding guitar intro to the single is giving strong early days Slipknot vibes before bursting into that unique flavoursome sound they produce time and time again. The vocals from singer Miles Case-Watson are as strong as ever and fully in your face and roles perfectly with the entire song, his growls are piercing with the heavy punch of the drums that just explodes the full feel to the song. The aggression that’s bee poured into this can be felt straight away and for the duration of the song is just sheer power.

The ending to the song is certainly something, the build up gets you all fired up before abruptly ending. In a way its the band just saying, if you want more, you’ll need to come back for it.

“This track is a reflection of the anger and frustration that comes with being drained by toxic forces in your life,” says vocalist Miles. “It’s about feeling like you're being consumed, piece by piece, by people or situations that offer nothing in return. We wanted this track to feel claustrophobic and relentless, both musically and thematically.”

The single is paired with a music video that matches the intensity of the track perfectly. Filmed in what appears to be an abandoned building coated in a verity of graffiti designs and tree roots - it’s the ideal fit for the feel of the single.

Godeth are pathing their own way in the music scene and quickly becoming a force as a modern heavyweight band in the metal scene.
