Slam Dunk Announce Two Special Performances Ahead Of This Years 20th Birthday
Not only will Slam Dunk be turning 20 this year (yes, we are getting old), but they will also be hosting two incredible acts this year who will be celebrating 10 years of two very iconic records. The festival has announced Boston Manor will be playing their incredible Be Nothing in full as well as an added treat of Trash Boat, who will be adding Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through in full to the festival mix.
This year's lineup is not only a celebration of this special festival, but it's also a celebration of the many incredible bands who have been playing on these stages for years and allowing us to scream and shout our hearts out to iconic records in full. The organizers have gone all out this year to ensure that this festival will go down in history both in the north and the south.
As we gear up to the big weekend, there will be plenty of events all over the UK to help build up all the excitement for the main event in May. This year sees a collaboration with Damaged Society for sick-ass merch as well as 3 in-store events in Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield that will see Slam Dunk DJs play your favorite festival bangers and your chance to get your hands on some nice goodies while you dance in a shop. This year will also see the return of the legendary Slam Dunk club night in Manchester, where local icon Cam the DJ will be spinning all sorts of bangers in Gorilla on March 7. Not missing out on a quick visit up to Scotland, where the club will take over The Cathouse in Glasgow and the iconic Decade Club Night in Edinburgh.
Need plans after the festival? As per usual, the legends at Facedown will be taking over London and Leeds clubs to bring you the best after-parties possible. In London, they will be bringing the action to Electric Ballroom and The Black Heart for the yearly Camden takeover. Up in Leeds, The Key Club, Santiago & Belgrave Music Hall will host a mix of all things Slam Dunk related. Both days will also see a special tribute from Fall Out Boy. Hatfield will also have their own bit of fun with Rock Sound hosting their own special night in the University of Hertfordshire SU. One wristband, one huge night of festival fun.
The full festival lineup has been upon us long enough to fully digest the full scale of just how big this year will be, including a full dedicated heavy stage packed full of the best hardcore and metalcore bands in the business right now. Stage splits are still to come, so we have plenty more excitement to help get us all through to the big one in May.
