Bury Tomorrow Bring The Heat With An Explosive Manchester Headline Show

Over the last 20 years, Bury Tomorrow have shown time and time again why they are one of the most captivating metalcore bands in the scene, their growth as a band has been incredible to watch and every move they make is made to perfection weather it be in terms of music released or their live show, something that brings so much excitement to witness.
They have recently celebrated the release of their seventh studio album Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience and with that comes a mammoth headline tour - on that tour they roll into Manchester, a city that has always been a wild stomping ground for the band as they gear up to play their biggest headline show in Victoria Warehouse, a venue that is the perfect fit for the band.
First of all, we turn our attention to tonight’s main support - this is a band that I came across on TikTok recently, sometimes doom scrolling pays off. Florida based Nevertel instantly caught my attention with their Linkin Park esc vibe, their combination of screams, riffs and rap hits extremely hard and are certainly the perfect fit to send this Manchester crowd into a frenzy. Their set-up of two vocalists works in so many ways and their energy instantly sucks you in, both Raul Lopez & Jeremy Michael bounce off each other perfectly while not forgetting Alec Davis on lead guitar who produces some seriously strong riffs that are right in your face.

Listening to this band on the usual platforms, I was excited to see how it transferred on stage and their sound really is something - Victoria Warehouse is a big space to fill and god did they do that, a short set that was packed full of intensity and non stop action. This tour is their chance to showcase their latest record Start Again that was only just unleashed in mid September. Playing a good chunk of the record, they gave newer fans a good taste of what they are all about mixing things from now all the way back to 2021 including one of their most played songs “Everything in my Mind” and their 2022 single “Modified,” a song that gives you a great taste of what this band do best.
Despite the slower start, the crowd eat up every moment with a good amount of crowd surfers and pits for the most part of the set. The band themselves continually showing their gratitude to just how much they love the city and the efforts the people are putting into this set, something that appears to be replicated back. Being a kind of album tour, it was great to hear the likes of Sacrifice and Some Things live was a great feeling, even more so when the band had the crowd light the room with their phone torches and lighters adding to the special feel around the room - the full record is personally what I’d say is the bands best and most polished work and hearing it live for the first time amplifies the effort that went into the making of it. If people didn’t already know, this tour is their chance to get to know this band because the momentum will only grow.

While we wait for tonight’s main act, the song choice to warm up the crowd was certainly something - think Slipknot, System Of A Down and Korn but instead of their usual head banging classics, the surprising twist of a classical vibe that despite it’s change in tempo, the crowd ate it all up singing every word back like it was a live show. The build up to any show is always made by the music in between, and this selection was nailed on perfect.
As the sound of The Purge echo’s round the room, it’s time for Bury Tomorrow to take to the stage for their biggest Manchester headline show to date. The set starts in the strongest possible way with “Choke” & “DEATH (Ever Colder)” kick starting the pits straight away, I mean what else did we expect from an intro so hard. Doing this for 20 years, they just age like fine wine in all honesty, the presence they have on stage is captivating to watch and it shows why they’ve been smashing it for this length of time. The timeless classic that is Cannibal is next on the agenda, the crowd springing from front to back right before the explosive Boltcutter is introduced with an array of fire across the length of the stage - Pyro always adds to the vibe of a live show and tonight we got it in mass.

The fit of Bury Tomorrow and this venue just went hand in hand, they filled every inch of this space with banger after banger and of course getting the full force of the new record in the flesh - the likes of Villain Arc and What If I Burn coming in hard and getting the reception they deserve, the sheer intensity of the record is proof this band have still got it, I mean you just don’t loose it when you’re a band as solid as kings of Southampton are.

The energy in the crowd never dips even slightly with a continues sea of crowd surfers and pits for pretty much every single song - it’s common knowledge that Manchester crowds go off and this show backs up that claim and then some. The closing songs are sadly here but what a way to bow out, “Heretic”, the classic “Black Flame” and “Abandon Us” among the big hitters seeing out the night with of course the final uses of pyro, pits and surfers.
It will get said time and time again but it comes as no surprise to see Bury Tomorrow pack out a venue this size and put on a solid performance like this one - they have been crushing every show they have done since 2006 and they will continue to do so until such times as they hang up the guitars, just please don’t it anytime soon because we need nights like this.
