With his LP, The Dreamin’ Kind, released at the beginning of this year and the tour beginning shortly after, dreams have been coming true left and right. The record itself is a profound collection of alt-folk music written and composed from honest emotions of love, sadness, and anger. A form of communication not all can reach, but when it's done properly, only beautiful moments follow. The first single, “Dream Come True,” shares the message of going after what you’ve always dreamt of; this song and many others on the record were collaborations with many other Nashville musicians. Names including Daniel Wagner, Jake and Sam Kiszka, and Hannah Wicklund are all coming together to make Langhorne’s dream come true.
Since the release, Langhorne Slim has been able to share his music across social media, podcasts, interviews, and was even given the opportunity to perform live on The Daily Show. He openly shares his beliefs of connection and curiosity over certainty of the future, speaking on being a dreamer, which he claims is the “most beautiful thing to be.” His record greatly backs his beliefs and words, every lyric a reflection of his soul.

His live show held no contradiction to the matter, bringing along Laney Jones & The Spirits as the opening act; both groups created a night of community and belonging within just a few short hours. The alt-folk groups were excited to play in the legendary Antone’s Nightclub in Austin, TX. The crowd, primarily older, was loud and lively with energy, keeping the vibes high the whole night, shouting exclamations and singing to every song with overwhelming joy.
Laney Jones & The Spirits, an independent group also from Nashville, opened the night with their originals from their 2025 self-titled album. Whether or not the crowd knew the group beforehand, Laney Jones held the attention of the audience throughout their whole set. Acknowledging everyone from dogs to burnouts, welcoming all who came to listen and revel in the spirit of folk and rock ‘n’ roll. After their set, the members took their time to meet fans in the audience, getting to know everyone that approached and personally thanking them for taking the time to experience a night like no other.

As soon as Langhorne Slim took the stage, the crowd immediately cheered seeing him under the spotlight. Opening with his single “Rock ‘n’ Roll,” a song that again encapsulates the idea of choosing to follow your dream rather than the logistical route. Its upbeat melody and meaningful lyrics create an atmosphere that can serve for a dance party and heartfelt sing-a-long, given his music takes inspiration from folk, country, and 70s rock.
Throughout his set, he continued to encourage everyone to dance and sing along, despite knowing every word or knowing your neighbor. He focused on the sense of community: loving and uplifting each other in our differences and seizing the opportunity to be in the moment surrounded by strangers with a like mind.
Overall, it was a show for those seeking a deeper connection with the world around them. His show and music are for the dreamers wishing a life of beauty for themselves and the world, whatever that may mean. Despite any resentment towards the world, the government, or your job, all troubles faded away that night with Langhorne Slim. He found a way to share his honest mind and create a space that was free to be exactly who you are without apology or regret. Langhorne Slim is a dreamer, and it seems his dreams continue to come true with every stop on this tour: meeting and bonding with other dreamers, expressing gratitude and appreciation on both ends. There’s now an environment where dreams can be shared; it may still be scary to chase it, and there may be doubts, but in the words of Langhorne Slim, “Without a dream, you can’t have a dream come true.”
