Mirador’s debut headlining show at The Basement East in Nashville on May 10, 2025, was a powerful mix of storytelling and rock ‘n’ roll. The sold-out crowd filled the venue with excitement, ready to hear the band’s unique blend of bluesy rock and myth-inspired lyrics.
The band is made up of Jake Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet and Chris Turpin of Ida Mae, along with Mikey Sorbello on drums and Nicki Pini on bass and keys. Together, they created a sound that felt both fresh and deeply rooted in classic rock. Kiszka and Turpin shared vocals and guitar duties, trading off leads and harmonies that kept the crowd entranced from the first song to the last.
The band songs that they have played previously, familiar names such as “Feels Like Gold”, and “Must I Go Bound”, but also intertwined the setlist with unreleased songs not played before, “Ashes to Earth”, “Fred McDowell” and “Raider” being woven into the mix.
Sorbello’s drumming and Pini’s bass lines added depth and drive to each song, letting the music flow in just the right way. The whole band played with energy and focus, clearly enjoying the connection with the audience.
The Basement East, with its great sound and intimate vibe, was the perfect setting for this kind of performance. Every note, from soft harmonies to loud guitar solos, shone through clearly. The crowd was fully engaged, screaming from excitement, swaying, and cheering between songs.
Mirador’s music feels timeless—pulling from old stories and sounds while adding something new that was unheard of. Their Nashville show was more than just a night of good music; it felt like a shared journey through emotions, memories, and myths. It was clear from the response that the audience was deeply moved.
The band even went as far as to meet their fans before and after the show, proving that the music was not the only factor in play. The music being unreleased was an added factor, building excitement for the fans, and motivation for their eagerness to listen to the band play.
By the end of the night, it was obvious Mirador isn’t just another new rock band. They are building something special, blending tradition and originality in a way that’s very rare to see. Their first headline performance left a lasting impression—and fans are already looking forward to what’s next.
The band’s tour was extended, continuing through May and to October, with the first leg of dates all in May.
